Closing Reception for Postal-Collage Project No. 6 at Ramon's Tailor

I'm looking forward to this Sunday's Closing Reception and Brunch for the Postal-Collage Project No. 6 at Ramon's Tailor at 628 Jones Street in San Francisco.

Come explore the collaborative works by nearly 100 artists from around the world. Waffles will be made and served from 11am to 2pm. I'll also be adding to my work-in-progress, W.C. #15: Meander Line

The Ramon's Tailor gallery will also be open on Saturday from noon until 4pm. 

This is the the 6th annual Round Table [Collaboration] Postal-Collage Project, an amazing project dreamed up and organized by Marty McCutcheon. I've been lucky to take part in this project every year since it began. This year's show will be exhibited again in Berkeley in July (details to come).

Projects at Ramon's Tailor in San Francisco

At the marvelous Ramon's Tailor in San Francisco, I'm currently involved in two projects.

WC #15: "Meander Line"

Ramon's Tailor has an ongoing series of micro-installations in their WC, and I've begun work on installation #15, "Meander Line." For this project, I'm cumulatively adding a drawing/painting that wends its way around the room. Sheets of paper are added each time I work, numbered as I go. Rendered in ink, gouache, acrylic, crayon, pencil, oil pastel, the meander lines are growing, wandering, and layering across the walls. Working on it has been a contrast from my usual, daily work — the scale is larger and the aim is filling up a dimensional small room rather than a single sheet of paper. Also, my daily work is usually finished within the day's session, so to work on a piece that grows and appears over weeks and months is an incredibly different experience for me.

This project will be gradually materializing until its completion in July. At that point, there will be many sheets of paper completed, and they'll be available either as one work or many separate works.

The Round Table (Collaboration) Postal-Collage Project No. 6 showcases the work of nearly 100 collaborators from 12 countries. The Round Table (Collaboration) Postal-Collage Project is an annual international collaborative project I've been lucky to participate in for all of its six years. In its 6th iteration, I contributed to 10 pieces. This fascinating project is showing now at Ramon's Tailor, and the closing reception will be Sunday, May 21, from 11am to 2pm. I hope you can make it!
